French affair: Trudon introduces ‘Tuileries’ at NSW State Library

Trudon hosted an intimate dinner at the NSW State Library to celebrate the Australian launch of the new Marie Antoinette-inspired ‘Tuileries’ collection, comprising luxury wax candles and an elegant room diffuser. Aligned with the 380th anniversary of the French heritage brand, the event was attended by Sydney-based creatives and influential industry figures, alongside editors and journalists from top-tier publications.

After ascending the library’s grand marble staircase, guests were welcomed into the Red Paintings Room, which formed the backdrop to a 1700s provincial secret garden adorned with forest-like floral installations and Trudon candles en masse. As guests mingled – enjoying coupes of Perrier-Jouët Grand Brut Champagne and French canapes – a harpist in 18th century regalia played melodies from the era, while Marie Antionette-style dancers roamed the room.

Ushered by the dancers, guests were then welcomed into the Blue Paintings Room, where a single table for 60 was set for the grand feast. Floral centrepieces illuminated by candlelight towered over guests while they dined on a three-course menu.

A highlight of the evening was a James Beck-choreographed dance performance by Marie Antoinette’s “ladies in waiting” who cheekily interacted with guests, before taking a deep curtsy ahead of welcoming addresses by Isabella Svartstein, CEO Trudon, and Michael Marzano of Agence de Parfum.
