David Mallett’s popular salon concept has arrived in America with the launch of David Mallett à New York, an extension of Parisian hairdresser’s right-bank flagship salon opened in 2003, and David Mallett au Ritz Paris, his second salon in the newly renovated hotel Ritz Paris at the Place Vendome in 2016.

Situated in a grand 17th-century hôtel particulier off Place des Victoires in the heart of Paris, Mallett’s eponymous salon has become one of the most important beauty addresses in the City of Light. Both spaces are testimonial to David’s long experience in cinema, fashion, advertising and runaways, as well as his desire to bring those skills into a hairdressing salon for everyone to enjoy.

Located within the New York location of luxury multi-brand boutique The Webster, Mallett’s New York outpost marks the hairstylist’s first salon outside of Paris designed as an intimate and exclusive space, to look after the specific needs of its clients – all overlooked by Mallett’s senior stylists and colourist from France, or by the man himself. After years of servicing clients from across the Atlantic, Mallett and his top team members will bring their skills and vision to Stateside.

Rather than cast onto the street front, David Mallett a New York is discreetly kept from view with the eight-chair studio located on the fifth floor of The Webster Soho at 29 Greene Street combining old-world grandeur of enormous ceilings with original architectural details of historical New York and an ever-present friendly ambience.

To decorate the space, David worked in conjunction with the renowned François Pouenat to produce bespoke pieces of furniture and artistic creations, lamps and fittings. David also partnered with the very talented Australian designer Louise Olsen, to introduce our American clientele to the beautiful and innovative creations of Dinosaur Designs, one of one of Australia’s leading design brands.

The salon offers hairstyling and colour, gentlemen’s haircuts and blow-dries; private consultations and services for special occasions are available. Expect specialised damage-targeting Tokyo Inkarami soin, and signature treatments using hair products by David Mallett Haircare.

Mallett said: “I am always mesmerised by the positive effects and beauty you pick up travelling the world. My new American adventure won’t be a French or Australian project; it will be a global one. A place where people, races, languages are mixed, creating a real journey in the heart of the brand.”
