Chelsea De Luca launches ‘Lounge’

Avant-garde, Australian jewellery designer Chelsea De Luca, known for her dramatic and distinctive collections which take influence from her adoration of art-deco glamour, has taken her love for creating beautiful, timeless pieces into a fashionable new area with the launch of Chelsea De Luca Lounge.

Inspired by her vision of an effortlessly luxe and polished lifestyle, Chelsea’s new venture into exquisite robes, pyjamas and shirting is a natural extension for the designer, thoughtfully designed as pieces to covet and collect.

Distinguished by her signature aesthetic from which her jewellery line has been renowned for over 10 years, what sets the loungewear collection apart are the original and very individual prints, translated from the label’s intrinsic DNA with unique designs that perfectly reflect the heart and soul of the brand.

Touching on Chelsea’s Italian heritage, the debut collection is simply named “Uno”, a nod to the perfection of just one word.

An exercise in opulence and simplicity, the sophisticated silk crepe de chine robes, pyjama sets, pants, dresses and shirts feature French seams and piping, intended not to be worn to bed but instead designed to be incorporated into one’s everyday wardrobe like a dream come to life.

Creating a feeling that is chic, jet set, glamorously bohemian and the basis of the perfect resort wardrobe, each piece is endlessly adaptable and can be styled in infinite ways. Interpreted and styled to work beautifully for any occasion, the styles can be worn with jeans or a camisole for day, dressed up with heels, and cinched in at the waist and piled with decadent jewels for night.

Designing the prints based on photographs of her most signature statement jewels, using a painstaking process of hand drawing, digital printing and colour manipulation to replicate the depth and feel on silk, the rich colour palette pays homage to Chelsea’s most famous pieces, with sumptuous jewel tones of emerald, claret, Wedgewood blue, snow white, jet, smoke grey and blush, punctuated with accents of rich gold and silver hand foiling.

Since its inception, the label has developed a loyal following in Australia and internationally with loyal followers including Beyonce, Gwyneth Paltrow, Elle MacPherson, Eva Mendes, Kylie and Dannii Minogue, Rose Byrne, Rhada Mitchell, Dakota Fanning, Jodi Gordon and Jennifer Hawkins. Influencers who wear her designs include fashion commentator and former editor of Australian Vogue Kirstie Clements, Gary Pepper’s Nicole Warne, Fairfax Journal’s Nadia Fairfax, Gritty Pretty’s Eleanor Pendleton, Brooke Testoni and My Empirical Life’s Tanja Gacic.
